Results from the Fitger’s 5k are discussed, as well as the standings from the first NMTC Spring Trail Race Series race on a new course in Superior, WI.
Lots of upcoming races are mentioned for May, including all of the remaining NMTC Spring series races, Law Day 5k in Duluth, Moose Run in Moose Lake, Once Upon A Run 5k in Duluth, Race Against Racism (formerly Mother’s Day Walk/Run), Pike Lake 10k/Half Marathon, and Madeline Island Marathon. Plenty of options for racing this month!
Trails are still closed in Duluth. Tony’s Route of the Week is the Bear Creek Trail towards Wisconsin Point, which Mike and Tony both ran for the first time recently at the NMTC race.
Tony got an on-site interview at the first NMTC race with organizer Jarrow Wahman, timers Kris Kolenz and Lisa Byrne, and Lisa provided some information on the new Duluth Foot Trails Alliance group.
Finally, Tony is into the Smokey Mountains, having recently traveled there, and Mike is into biking as the seasons start to change.
